Strength Within: Movement and Exercise Psychotherapy™
Reconnect with your body. Work through what’s holding you back. Build strength: physically and psychologically.
Movement & Exercise Psychotherapy™ (MEP™) is a structured, evidence-informed psychotherapy service that integrates intentional movement with clinical therapy. It goes beyond traditional talk therapy by actively engaging the body as part of the therapeutic process to support emotional regulation, stress reduction, and deeper self-awareness in real time.
In each 50-minute session, psychotherapy is combined with guided movement tailored to your comfort level and goals. This may include mobility work, strength-based exercises, grounding techniques, or light cardiovascular activity. Movement is used intentionally, not just for fitness, but as a tool to process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and strengthen the mind–body connection.
MEP™ is especially helpful if you:
- feel stuck in traditional talk therapy
- struggle with stress, anxiety, or emotional regulation
- want a more active, embodied approach to mental health
- already value movement and want to integrate it into your therapy
This service is grounded in over 8 years of strength coaching and personal training experience alongside doctoral-level clinical training in psychotherapy. Sessions are provided by a Registered Psychotherapist and are delivered in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
MEP™ is offered either in-person at Scorrybreac Barbell or virtually across Ontario.
All services are provided through Strength Within Psychotherapy by a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO). Sessions may be covered under extended health benefits that include psychotherapy. HST exempt.

Just wanted to take a moment to highly recommend Erica Nagy from Scorrybreac Barbell for any families looking for a unique and engaging therapeutic option for their child. Erica is both a psychotherapist and a fitness trainer, and she offers a hybrid therapy approach that incorporates body movement and fitness into her clinical sessions. She’s been working with our 14-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum, and it’s been an incredibly positive experience. He’s never connected well with traditional therapy or organized sports, but Erica has managed to engage him in a way that is active, supportive, and tailored to his needs. Even though we live two hours away, we’ve been able to access her services virtually, and she’s helped us create an immersive space right in our own home that works beautifully for remote sessions. Erica is also an approved provider under the OAP for core clinical services, which made the process of working with her even smoother.
If you’re a parent looking for a more dynamic and movement-based therapy option for your neurodivergent child or teen, I can’t recommend Erica and Scorrybreac Barbell enough. She’s truly made a difference for our family.
